About This Trek

Miyar Valley is one of the quieter valleys of Lahaul — a long, gentle stretch of shepherd trails, open meadows, and glacier-fed streams that most trekkers have never explored. Starting from Urgos, the trail follows the Miyar Nala, moving through willow groves and grazing meadows with views of the surrounding peaks opening up at every turn.

Unlike the steep, technical treks nearby, Miyar Valley is a genuinely easy, gradual walk — making it an ideal starting point for first-time trekkers, families, or anyone who wants real Himalayan scenery without a demanding climb. The valley remains largely untouched by mass tourism, so the trail stays peaceful throughout.

Why This Trek Is Special

What makes this route stand apart

Miyar Valley isn’t on most trekking maps yet — it remains one of the few valleys in Himachal where you can walk for hours through open meadows without seeing another group. Shepherd camps dot the trail in season, glacier streams cross the path at regular intervals, and the pace is gentle enough that the experience feels more like a walk through a living landscape than a physical challenge.

Why Travel With Us

Why do it with Vairagya Yatra

We cap this trek at 12–15 trekkers, with local guides who know the valley’s shepherd routes and seasonal changes closely. Evenings are unhurried — built around the fire, conversation, and simply being present in a valley most people never get to see.

What you will carry back

Not just photos of an open valley. A gentle reset, a few honest conversations with strangers who became friends, and proof that a meaningful Himalayan trip doesn’t need to be difficult to be real.

Who Should Join

Who should join

First-time trekkers, families, and anyone who wants an easy, scenic introduction to the Himalayas. No prior trekking experience needed — just basic fitness to walk 6–8 km a day at a relaxed pace.

Who should avoid

Those looking for a technical or high-altitude challenge should consider our Panwali Kantha or Kaagbhusandi Tal treks instead — this route is intentionally gentle.

What the Trail Feels Like

The trail stays close to the Miyar river throughout, moving through willow groves and open grazing land. There’s no steep climbing — just a steady, easy walk with the valley slowly widening around you. By the second day, shepherd camps and grazing sheep become a regular sight, and the mountains on either side start to close in, framing the valley in a way that feels quietly dramatic without ever feeling difficult.

Reflection & Night Circle

More than just dinner and sleep

After dinner each night, we sit together by the fire — no schedule, no agenda. The valley is quiet enough that conversations naturally slow down and deepen. It’s one of the parts of this trek that doesn’t show up in any itinerary, but stays with people the longest.

“I expected an easy trek. I didn’t expect it to feel this peaceful.”
