About Weekend Treks

Not everyone can take a week off. But almost everyone can take a weekend. Our weekend treks are designed for exactly that — a genuine mountain experience that fits into two days, without feeling rushed or compromised.

Starting from Rishikesh, these are short, accessible treks into the lower Garhwal hills — forest trails, river crossings, small campsites, and real mountain air. No prior experience needed. Just comfortable walking shoes and the willingness to step away from a screen for 48 hours.

Why This Works

A real reset in 48 hours

Most people think you need at least 5 days to experience the Himalayas properly. You don’t. What you need is the right pace, the right trail, and a group that isn’t trying to rush through it. Our weekend treks are short on duration but built with the same intentionality as our multi-day expeditions — unhurried evenings, proper food, and time to actually be present where you are.

Why Travel With Us

Why do it with Vairagya Yatra

We run these weekend treks with the same care as our 6-day expeditions. Small groups, local guides who know the terrain, proper camping setup, and home-cooked food on the trail.

What you will carry back

Two days of actual fresh air and genuine quiet. And for many, this is the first step — the trek that makes you want to come back for the longer ones.

Who Should Join

Who should join

Absolute beginners, corporate groups, families, solo travelers, people who’ve never trekked before — anyone who wants a genuine taste of the Himalayas without committing to a week-long expedition.

Who should look elsewhere

If you want high altitude, technical trails, or a physically demanding multi-day challenge — our Panwali Kantha or Kaagbhusandi Tal treks are more your pace.

“I came for a weekend. I left wanting three more weeks.”
