Not just a trek — a journey into the mountains and a return to yourself.
Vairagya Yatra was not created to become just another trekking company.
It was created for people who are tired of surface-level travel, rushed itineraries, and crowded groups that turn mountains into a checklist.
We believe the Himalayas are not just places to visit — they are spaces that slow you down, open you up, and reconnect you with something real.
Vairagya means letting go of what weighs you down. Yatra means a journey. Together, they describe what happens when you truly experience the mountains — you return lighter, clearer, and more present.
We are a small local team from Uttarakhand, and that is our biggest strength. We don’t show you the Himalayas from a brochure — we take you to the trails we have grown up on, the places that still feel untouched, and the journeys that actually change something inside you.
Every decision we make — from trail choice to group size — comes back to one belief: the best Himalayan experience is not the fastest or the most crowded one. It is the most real one.
Our guides grew up in these mountains. They know the terrain, the weather, the culture, the hidden viewpoints, and the emergency routes — knowledge that comes from living the Himalayas, not memorising them.
We don’t separate the outer journey from the inner one. Some routes carry spiritual legacy, some carry silence, and some carry challenge — but each is chosen for what it lets you feel, not just what it lets you see.
We cap every batch at 12–15 people. This creates better care, quieter trails, stronger bonding, and the kind of meaningful conversations that don’t happen in crowded groups.
The mountains are not ours to consume. We follow no-trace principles, support local communities, and try to leave every place with more respect than footprint.
Vairagya Yatra did not start with a business plan.
It started with a simple realization — every time we took someone into the mountains, they came back different.
Calmer. Clearer. More present. More themselves.
And that raised a deeper question: why are most people missing this kind of experience?
The answer was clear — most trekking had become transactional.
Big groups. Rushed schedules. Surface-level experiences.
The mountains were still there — but the experience had lost its depth.
"We didn’t want to build another trekking company. We wanted to create journeys that people carry with them long after the trek ends."
So Vairagya Yatra was built differently — with local knowledge at its core, small groups as a non-negotiable, and routes chosen not just for popularity, but for the kind of experience they create.
We chose journeys that still feel real — the wide meadows of Panwali Kantha, the sacred remoteness of Kaagbhusandi, the energy of Chandrabadni, and smaller escapes that help people reset without needing a dramatic expedition.
We are registered with the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, and Uttarakhand Tourism. But beyond the paperwork, what matters most to us is the trust of the people who have walked these mountains with us and felt something real on the way back.
A small team rooted in the Himalayas — not just by location, but by lived experience.
The heart behind Vairagya Yatra. Rishabh’s belief in deeper, more human travel shaped the spirit of everything we do.
The backbone of every journey. Reyansh ensures that every trek stays smooth, grounded, and responsibly executed from start to finish.
Born in the Garhwal hills, Shubham brings trail wisdom, calm presence, and the kind of local knowledge that only lived experience can give.
These are not just values we write — they are decisions we stick to, even when it would be easier not to.
First-aid trained guides, pre-trek safety briefings, and emergency protocols on every single journey. No compromises.
What’s included, what’s not, what the trail feels like, and who a trek is truly for — we believe clarity is part of care.
We pack out what we bring in, respect the land, support local communities, and treat the mountains as living spaces, not backdrops.
We deliberately keep groups small even when we could fill more spots. The quality of your experience matters more than scale.
Vairagya Yatra is fully registered and approved by India’s leading tourism and mountaineering bodies.
